Gotta love an overly dramatic title for a blog post. Well, this is one of those #dbsobsessed obsessions that I simply had to share with my 3 readers. (Hoping for 17 by end of Q1). Behold, the Jonathan Adler Champagne Pop Candle While I am never 100% comfortable spending this much money ($42) on a candle, this is a must-have for me. These candles are not only amazing smelling (will get to that in detail in a moment), but they are beautiful to look at! As someone who is a total candle junkie, I love me a Yankee Candle, but that jar just screams for a doily and an officially signed form for having given up on any form of chicness. I may live in the burbs and have a dog now, but I am still holding on to some form of dignity in terms of my cool factor. They may be shreds, but dammit, I am gripping to them for deal life! In terms of the smell, I was not sure at first when I saw the name, but was determined to own it for looks alone. However, when I smelled the sample in the Jonathan Adler store, I was in love! Both this and the Jonathan Adler Grapefruit Pop Candle* send me straight to my granmother's house in Los Angeles. I love that lady a lot, so it is a wonderful scent memory. Her backyard is full of citrus trees, and I think the bright notes in these candles smell just like that little orchard of hers. Another amazing thing about these candles is that they are pungent! Even when not burning, the give off a noticeable scent. When I am spending this much on a candle, it for sure helps that I know it is going to last me a long time and that I am not going to have to burn it to enjoy it. Many times when you want a candle that is actually going to emit enough scent to cover up something like fish you cooked for dinner, or a mess your puppy made (yeah, that is now my life), your only option is some sickly sweet scent that is just a bit much (unless of course it is Christmas-time and you are getting your seasonal candle on. NO SHADE FOR THAT). * SHIT. While getting links for this, I saw that there is Grapefruit soap on a rope, body wash, handsoap, etc. Byeeee dollars! Nice knowing you!
