Another week, another creeptastic book to report on. I liked Karin Slaughter's Pretty Girls, and it was a quick and entertaining read. HOWEVER... it is gross. A lot of very graphic details. If that is not for you, steer clear. Otherwise- a fun thriller.

What a great thing I have to share with you! It is, without a doubt, the place I am the most #dbsobsessed with: The Wood River Valley. I happen to have grown up in this amazing place, but had not been back in 10 years! A quick overnight trip while in Boise, was just what I needed. Here are some highlights and favorites from my recent pass through one of the most magical places on earth. Stay tuned for more on this front... DBS Culinary-Minded Marketing is looking to expand to this fantastic locale, as soon as possible. There is a lot happening in the dining scene, here in the Wood River Valley, and I can't wait to see what could happen on that front. Thanks to Influenster and YSL, I was lucky enough to be able to recently check out YSL's latest fragrance, Black Opium. It reminds me a lot of Narciso Rodriguez Her, mixed with a bit more sweetness- one that is faintly reminiscent of Angel. While I have always found those fragrances to be a bit intense and somewhat cloying- YSL got it right by taking the best of both and coming up with something entirely new. It's sexy, musky and complex. Not something you are probably going to wear out to lunch, but for sure good for date night. A little goes a long way with this one, ladies. I would not overspray...
Never thought I would be a hot roller kind of girl, but consider me converted! It is amazing how easy these are to use, and what incredible body they give, even to lifeless, limp hair like my own. :)
T3 Voluminous Hot Rollers, I love you.
This guy always kills it with all of his seasonings. Do not attempt a diet that requires healthy cooking, without some of his seasonings. My latest obsession from Flavor God: RANCH!
RANCH! Quick and easy DIY for your fall decor! All you need is: PUMPKIN or PUMPKINS + Rust-Oleum 1910830 Metallic Spray in Gold
Time for me to share another book with you! As you know, I love a dark novel with some twists and turns.
The Good Girl_ by Mary Kubica falls squarely into that category and is an exciting and very quick read. I loved the alternative POV it provides to a kidnapping situation, allowing readers to view the situation from the perspective of all players. I look forward to reading the next book by Kubica, Pretty Baby. It is always so great to be reminded of the fact that there is so much to see and enjoy in your own backyard. This past weekend, I was reminded of this in the same way I often am... by having a friend in town! I remember when I lived in Boston, and in SF, I would often do things I thought of as 'touristy' with my visiting friends, and ending up having the time of my life, and remembering how lucky I am to live in a place that people visit for fun!
On this Northern California day trip, we saw so many beautiful things, tasted delicious food, drank good wine, and had an amazing time. Yes, I was #dbsobsessed, and had to share the highlights with you! Note: The stairs up from the Pt Reyes lighthouse are no joke, and I was nearly defeated by them. Not having a hair tie did not help either. I may have looked hideous, but I was having a blast anyway. |
