We have all heard/seen a million posts about the amazing health craze that is 'overnight oats' as a breakfast solution. Last night, I was feeling motivated, and got some going for this morning, using what I had in the pantry. Here are the results:
Ingredients: Rolled Oats Low Sugar Craisins Slivered Almonds Honey Greek Yogurt Milk Pinch of Salt Lemon Zest (most important for flavor) Throw it all in there and mix it up. Wait until morning, and eat! I decided on quantity based on the size of my jar, and had enough for at least 2 people. I mean, it was good. A croissant with ham and cheese would have been better, but it was good. Make sure not to use too much liquid to oats, if you do not want something overly mushy. The lemon zest and salt were key in bringing out flavors. Orange zest would have been killer too. I will for sure be playing around with different versions of this. *Happening to have a clean and empty mini- mason jar was a bonus.
